Time To Illuminate That Smile

Evolving modern science today is not limited to certain faculties of medicine only. In fact it's vast scope covers dentistry as one of the most influenced streams. Though a routine dental check up will always be necessary; advanced treatments in dental clinics now have visitors coming in for cosmetic makeovers as much as patients that come in for routine tooth complaints.
Though dentists in Pune at several clinics have come up with several advanced treatments; one name that has carved a niche for itself is Oracare Dental Care, Pune. Along with excellent facilities for all types of regular treatments, we also specialize in the most modern, advanced treatments. Teeth whitening is one of them.
It is possible to make your teeth look  like the most desired pearly whites and flash that smile with confidence. Teeth whitening is a procedure that involves lightening the color of your teeth. This is achieved without affecting the tooth surface. Our expert treatment will not make a drastic change however it strikingly lightens the color shade of your teeth. The procedure is attained through oxidation, wherein free oxygen radicals bring about removal of stains from ones teeth.
After a teeth whitening procedure at Oracare,  patients teeth become visibly clean and sparkling. It even has a positive effect on the gums as well. A single tooth discoloration when caused due to trauma may be treated with the help of bleaching, however in some cases we do suggest the patients to go in for crowns and veneers.
At Oracare we have one of the best dentists in Pune who are capable of changing the whole look and feel of your smile and related cosmetic makeovers.

Early Dental Care

It is a well known fact, that a strong foundation always helps sustain future challenges. Since this rule applies more or less everywhere, teeth are no exception to it. If proper oral care is taken right from childhood years, there will be lesser teeth woes in the future. Since the main objective of teeth is to chew food properly; naturally diet and the types of food affect the overall oral hygiene.

Usually a good dentist can always guide better. Oracare Dental Centre is one such reputed clinic in Pune that specializes in all types of dental treatments. According to our eminent doctors, the white crown area of the teeth is the most crucial area. Since diet has a direct effect on teeth specially in childhood, malnutrition can adversely affect the same. A continuous intake of junk food is the real source of worry.
Also at Oracare, both children and their parents are meticulously guided on good teeth building habits. Mostly the children need to go in for a continuous supply of nutrients, minerals, calcium etc. Once this is established, the child can enjoy any sweet food without any worry. Out of all the types of nutritional foods available; fruits and vegetables are the most important ones.
Given the known importance of Vit.D for having good oral health, everyone follows it religiously. But not many know that Vit.C is also equally important for having a strong foundation for good oral health. This vitamin helps strengthen the gums, particularly since health of gums is always almost the most neglected area when it comes to oral health. Dentists all over the world and even dentists in Pune, like us, have been promoting fruits like strawberries, kiwis as the best source of Vitamin C. Milk commonly known for its high calcium content, should also be regularly consumed. Even dairy products like cheese or yogurt are good to snack on as a rich source of calcium.
Like many Dentists in Pune, Oracare specializes in pediatric dentistry and our doctors also guide on the right foods and what are the eatables that should be avoided.
We also suggest that crunchy vegetables play a vital role in good oral health. Vegetables like cauliflower, carrots, green peas etc. require extended chewing activity. This helps scrub the teeth and remove the plaque.
All the above good eating habits coupled with a habit of visiting a dentist at least twice a year can ensure your child with excellent oral health. And more so this will also keep your child away from painful procedures like root canal treatments, tooth extraction etc.

The Perfect Smile

Some tortures are physical
And some are mental,
But the one that is both
Is dental. —Ogden Nash

This ditty penned by Ogden Nash is echoed by many. A visit to the dentist brings about a feeling of trepidation. For some indiscernible reason, people dread sitting in the dentist’s chair, with a bright halo of light focused on their open mouth, while the dentist tinkers around with strange, metallic tools that seem to glint maliciously in the light. Perhaps it’s because the equipment are reminiscent of a surgeon’s, or perhaps it’s the screech of the equipment that grinds one’s nerves and causes an inward shudder. But at Oracare, we strive to make your visit as comfortable as can be.

With a surfeit of orthodontists in Pune, one has to be meticulous in making the right choice. Ideally, you would want a place which offers the best treatment, has every conceivable option of dental care, whether restorative or cosmetic, at the most affordable rates. Oracare Dental Center offers all that and much more! Our mission is to bring to you outstanding dental care, making your visit pain-free and easy. Our raison d’ĂȘtre is providing you that beautiful smile that you always desired.

One of the more common treatments that we offer is dental implant. In this treatment, an artificial tooth root, usually made of titanium, is placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth which resembles a natural tooth. It is difficult to discern between an artificial tooth and a natural one. This is an option for people who may have lost either a single tooth or several teeth due to periodontal disease, injury, or for some other reason. An implant will replicate the natural function and manifestation of the real tooth.

Apart from this, at Oracare we offer a vast array of treatments, depending on your need. This includes periodontal gum surgery, bone grafting, root canal, oral cancer detection, removable and fixed prosthesis, teeth whitening, tooth jewelry to name a few. Our exhaustive list of dental care options makes us a one-stop destination for all your teething woes. We possess modern equipment and facilities, well-resourced dental units and highly qualified dental practitioners. Dental Implants : Right from the Pages of History

Dental implants are the most technologically advanced form of dental implant surgery available today. In early days before titanium was discovered, ancient civilizations made use of the materials they had available with them to replace lost tooth/teeth. This article gives a brief insight into some of the events which have led to today’s modern day tooth implants.

The first case of tooth implantation was recorded in 1931. During excavation of ancient Mayan burial sites in Honduras, archaeologists found a Mayan mandible dating back to 600 AD. Careful study revealed that the mandible belonged to a young woman in her twenties. This mandible remarkably had three teeth shaped pieces of shell placed into the sockets of three missing teeth in the lower part of the jaw. Initially specialists thought that these teeth were placed into the mandible after the death of the subject as a custom in a similar way to the rituals observed by the ancient Egyptians. However, in 1970, Professor Bobbio, a scientist conducted another examination of the mandible. He discovered a compacted bone formation around two of the shell implants which made him believe that these tooth shaped shells had actually been implanted during the lifetime of the young girl.

The modern dentistry uses Titanium for dental implant. However, how did the use of this material come about? First uses of Titanium in dental implants carried out at Cambridge University. Research scientists at the university discovered a way to create a titanium chamber which could be embedded into the ears of rabbits to study in vivo blood flow. A little while later P. I. Branemark, known as ‘the father of dental implants’ implemented the same method for use in the Rabbit Femur for studies on bone regeneration and healing. When he came to remove the chambers he found that it was impossible for him to do so – the bone had actually adhered to the titanium. Branemark coined this term ‘osseointegration’.

In 1965 Branemark placed the first titanium dental implant into a human volunteer. In 1969 the first US patent for titanium dental implants was filed based on independent research.

Over the next 14 years Branemark continued his research before joining into a commercial partnership with a defense company then called Bofors AB. In 1981 Nobel Biocare was founded and to this date they have placed over 7 million Branemark system implants.

In addition there are now several other producers of dental implants including Paragon, Bicon and AstraTech. Thanks to the work of Branemark dental implants are now easier and within the reach of common man.

Dental Tourism –A reason to smile with pleasure

dental tourism is rapidly catching up with the advent of cross border mobility and with the growing economy of India. Medical tourism in India is expected to have an annual growth rate of 30%, and experts estimate that India’s medical tourism industry will contribute over $2 billion in annual revenue by 2012.

Medical tourism has opened up a new horizon of dental tourism. The reason behind the immense surge in medical tourism is that it has witnessed a tremendous growth in general all over the world. The increased availability of top-quality medical equipment, training, and technologies have allowed developing countries to build hospitals and health care systems that match and sometimes surpass the medical facilities that can be found in western developed countries like the U.S. or Britain and that too at a lower cost.

India has also made a conscious effort for dental tourism to comply strictly with international medical quality standards. Also, due to the fact that English is spoken widely throughout India which is another aspect of drawing a lot of native speakers of English for dental tourism. The government of India has also taken avid interest in the growth of the country’s medical tourism industry by repairing infrastructure issues that may hinder the industry growth.

Dental tourism is the option of medical treatment abroad for the purposes of having a dental procedure done, is one of the most popular reasons why medical tourists go to India for their healthcare needs. The economics of India’s dental tourism sector can give foreigners a taste for just how much westerners can save by having a medical procedure done abroad rather than at home at an exorbitant cost.

A dental filling in the U.S. or Europe can cost anywhere from $300 to $400. The same treatment in India will cost $20 to $40. That’s about a tenth of the price. No wonder dental tourism is a growing industry. For example a root canal treatment which costs $ 3000 in the West costs anywhere from $100 to $200 in India. Dentures may cost $200 in India, whereas in the West the cost can reach up to $1000 or more.

Besides, India is also a popular medical tourist destination because of its rich cultural history and popular tourist attractions. A lot of dental clinics in India that cater to western dental tourists set up package with tourism companies so that patients get to enjoy some of the sights and relax in India’s popular attraction sites during their brief sojourn.
